Upon further review it looks to me like the van was merely escaping the anarchists and the drivers actions were totally justifiable.

Yeah, me too but I would be steering for the least density of anarchists. The driver appeared to be trying to hit people rather than avoiding but it was certainly self-defense/self-preservation at work.

What i saw was the driver was sitting there...parked...like he didnt want to drive though the people...Then for some reason he just slammed on the accelerator. Anyone want to make a guess as to what happened between the time he didnt want to drive though those people and the time he did? Must have been something dramatic.

You will also notice that he is driving perfectly straight UNTIL the right front passenger tire hits the divider in the middle of the road which,im my opinion, caused the car to veer into all those pedestrians. Once that tire went over the divider, it made the car move sharpy right.

Remember that the driver was probably scared. People were yelling, throwing fire bombs and destroying things and sounded like some gunshots too The people were out of control....just look at the video 2 minutes in...for no reason they knocked down the fence of that gas station. This crowd was violent. The ones responsible for what happened to the people that got run over are the ones that attacked his car in the first place.

What are these idiots doing on the street anyway? First rule of civil unrest is to get inside, barricade the door, with an "equalizer" nearby if a home invasion occurs. Of course, if participating in a riot is your "thing" go for it.

This "car video" can give new ideas to people. This video proves that a mob of 1000 or 2000 people is nothing in comparison to speeding big vehicle.

If a group of 10 or 20 cars plough/tear through crowds/mobs just imagine the damage. Similar to mount horse police who disperse crowds with 5 or 6 big horses.

There is one problem with that...generally when a car hits a 150-200 pound object, it totals the vehicle. The guy in the van got lucky that after he hit the people, the car still ran. Can you imagine what the crowd would have done to him and his passengers if the vehicle stopped running? Yeah you will take out more of them, but its a 50/50 chance its a suicide mission.

I did not want to write this but what if somebody brings a speeding truck. I have seen speeding trucks at close range.
