For brain health I take Acetyl L-carnitine , R-lipoic acid, and Co-Q10 everyday. These promote optimal brain function and may aid in prevention of various diseases. I personally would not pursue racetams or other powerful nootropics/drugs that will most likely lead to unknown side effects and addiction/withdrawal symptoms.

Green Tea or L-theanine with coffee also helps with optimal calm focus.

Green tea is quite strong effect.
Most common method probably get strong coffe or to get brain fresh just sleep or dont look into problems.

Even for computer cpus the figure is not litteraly measured yet, as while the cpu is getting data from ram it says 100% while in realty it is >1% as cpu just waits for data to come into $cache.

The hollywood movie scene is nice , guy gets brain wired up and suddenly knows all ,and with all that knowledge he jumps to unknown waters from high cliff to impress some rich friends and or prove something to self. Someone with 0.5% or less usage could do same probably, but even dumbest animals with their built in instincts can calculate risk/reware ratio better and are probably not jumping that cliff.

Coffee and Green Tea are pure magic for me. I am really boring - that is the extent of my "drug" use. But their effect on me is extraordinary.

However, ever since I had an experience when I was young man, I believe in the power of these things. I have always been almost legally blind in my left eye. A friend invited me to get high and I did. I can count on one hand how many times I have been high. On the way home, at a train stop I had never been to, hopping on the train, I needed to see a sign that I couldn't make out with my right eye a distance away. All of a sudden something happened at the speed of light. My left eye instantly zoomed in on the sign and the letters looked the size of a balloon as I easily read what it said.

Right there and then I knew, I shouldn't mess with these things.

Doing daily intensive meditation is another matter , and meditation is known to train the brain, in the same way sport is known to train the body. Actually even in sport, one can take substance enhancing performance ( hormones) and that is very easy., no efforts required, no will power required.

Many people cant handle sensory deprovation or meditation too long.
 
It is interesting what supplements women "should' take. Other than Testestorene, I don't see such "shoulds" for men.

I hate pills. Give me something to mix with my juice instead.
