You ever make it to Clark?

No.

I really pined for it and was a fixture at CBPO constantly submitting the assignment request form for it because they had Phantoms there. Sadly I was stuck at Seymour Johnson except for quite a few TDY trips. We went to Ramstein every year and we did Red Flag every year.

Other places that people really wanted to go was Osan (Korea) and oddly Keflavic (Iceland).

I have to admit though, I had a great time in North Carolina. We just made the best of it and there was a ton of women around. Spent a good deal of time on my Harley, in biker bars, at mill ponds, rivers, lakes even a flooded quarry pit. I landed a 182 on the street in front of our house out in the country and we pushed it up onto the driveway when we were having a big party once. A buddy and I flew dead bodies around North Carolina for mortuaries for a few extra bucks mostly at night. Strange women would just show up at our door "because they saw the bikes out front".

I can't complain.

I spent nights at Clark (mostly off base) on 4 occasions. Both in route to and from Dodge in the IO, and during a TAD from Dodge to Cubi PT. I loved it there, and would have wanted to be stationed there had I been USAF (something I would have done if my recruiter hadn't lied to me).

Captain eh? Semper Fi brother, from a lowly NCO.

NCO's are the backbone. Thanks for your service! And yes, from enlisted to NCO. Later 20's went Mustang. And my timing couldn't have been "better" getting pinned. 9/11 went down a little over a year after I became a brown bar...

Greetings,
Captain USAF, 10 years service, I'd do it all again if I could. It was an honor and a privilege to serve. They were some of the best days of my life. "Tally Ho"!

Outstanding! Prior Captain here as well. Marines.
