Vertical Spreads for Aggressive Growth

Quote from momoneythansens:

FYI: You'll find that most people following this journal also follow the SPX Credit Spread journal. You might want to save yourself some typing and post trades in just one :)

Got it! What other good journals should be followed too?

That depends on what strategies you're interested in.

If you want all the various verticals (OTM, ATM, ITM, credit and debit) then this journal does ok, although sometimes I get too busy for it.

If you want calendars there is a calendar journal.

Riskarb keeps an exotics journal as well as a combo to fly conversion journal.

OC's SPX credit spread journal does well with FOTM credit spreads in indices. It also discusses many other strategies and has the largest following.

Well, looks like holding some of the FDX puts was a good thing to do in my trading account. Closed the rest of them out for a very nice two day profit.:)

Wow, I got out of that a bit early. Oh well, such is life in a choppy market.

Well it looks like the jump that I had expected is now underway thanks to a lower than expected GDP. This is hurting my GS position (as expected) but I believe this will give me the opportunity that I've been waiting for to put on some SPX spreads.:)

I put in my order for a 1300/1305 SPX spread at .05 under the mid then left for a little under an hour. I came back to find that I was now .25 under the mid and no fill. Maybe TOS is giving me bad mids or the MMs are really tight fisted today.

August or September?

August

I have a AUG 1300/1320C. Initially it was a 1300/1310 but I was able to adjust the long side for another $1 credit earlier this week. Total for the spread now is $1.85.

Sweating the short side a bit.

Aug 1300/1320 c is going for $4.20 on the mid right now isn't it?
