Vertical Spreads for Aggressive Growth

Well, looks like GS doesn't want to cooperate right now because of this short term market strength. I'm only down about $150 on this so far. I'm gonna sit it out a bit. I've got two exit strategies in mind depending on price action over the next week or so.

Nahhh, wasn't ever a fan. Never went to a seminar or anything.(was a big fan and spent thousands in seminars but am ashamed to admit it.) Read his book because someone recommended it, and loaned it to me. (even spent alot of money to buy his book and have his personal autograph on the hard cover) So I sat down for a couple afternoons(2 weeks as i was a newbie at the time) and read through it. After I'd finished the book I had decided that the seminars wouldn't be worth going to. (after reading the book my world changed, options were my way to riches so i signed up for even more seminars.) I did use optionetics platinum for a little while (6 months or so) because I liked the analysis tools and IV graphs. Once I started using ToS and Ivolatility, that went out the window.(Once i found out they were just pushing services and i didnt learn much, i moved to TOS and ivolatility, asked them for a refund and am still waiting for my money back)

LOL

I wonder if they are still running those infomercials or did they stop back in 2001? :)

HAHAHAHA... :D LUCKILY, I was already familiar with options by the time I saw my first optionetics infomercial. I like to think that I'm too much of a skeptic to go for something like that anyway, but who knows. If by chance I'd heard of a friend of a friend of a friend who was making a lot of money trading options, and one night I saw that infomercial, I might have looked into it. OK OK you got me. Really I did want to go, but I was too broke back then to pay for it. I tried to sneak in, but the girl working the snack counter busted me.

Seriously though, I know that some relatives lost a ton of money after the .COM crack. I'm not sure if they were using optionetics, but I'm pretty sure they went to some of those seminars.

I tried to snag a SPX 1295/1300 bear call spread this morning. Couldn't get it done before I had to leave the office so I left it. Market has gone down since then so no luck. Anybody else try to grab one?

I tried but couldn't get filled for what I wanted.

close the position for debit of 0.75.

Net profit = 0.5 in one day.

FYI: You'll find that most people following this journal also follow the SPX Credit Spread journal. You might want to save yourself some typing and post trades in just one :)
