Well with a Cdn passport you are Cdn - though I guess you mean dual citizenship Chinese born.
However all Canadians have to be careful. The USA broadened it's tax grab to include those with "substantial US ties" meaning that you must be very careful about not overstaying the 180 days and also things like owning a house in USA can put you over the line and then the IReallySuck (IRS) bureau will tax you like an American.
You have to show your ties are stronger to another country - like Canada - showing residence, banking ect.

Join that Cdn snowbird association and keep up to date on the latest tricks of the USA.
You can't even buy a lot in North Van for less than 1.5M. Take the house off and you might get an extra 250K. Even renting is ridiculous - hard to find and expensive.

If rentals are hard to find and expensive for you, I suggest either an increase in your budget or decrease in your lifestyle. Plenty of rentals available in the suburbs.
