In North Carolina is sticking to our original guidance according to our governor yesterday - our mask mandate will remain in place until 66% of our adult population has at least one shot of the vaccination. This is expected to happen in July. However any upcoming decisions will be guided by his board of medical experts -- for example the opening of vaccinations to older children may change the vaccination level requirement being only limited to "adults" and they will further look at the new CDC guidelines.

Will Gov. Cooper lift NC's mask mandate?
Gov. Roy Cooper said his intent has been to keep the current mask mandate in place until two-thirds of adults receive at least one COVID shot. But Thursday's CDC announcement could mean that the state's mask mandate is changing.
Cooper said his staff is going to evaluate the CDC's new mask guidelines to make their next decision.
"I want to make sure that our doctor's and professionals have time to examine what it is, and then we react accordingly," Cooper said on Thursday.
Cooper doesn't expect 66% of the state's adults to have a single shot until "sometime in July."
