Naked Shorting is just a hoax perpetrated by bad companies who blame their performance on short sellers.

I agree with most of what you said except.
Naked Short Selling exists.
But.
Who cares, it should be legal. Those most vocal about are bad companies.
Plenty of etf's on sho list The answer is in how etf's are created and it's not profitable to create more shares, so there are large number of ftd's.
nutmeg, I don`t understand.....does failure to deliver, mean that if the stock doesn`t move the way they want it to, they never have to buy to cloe out the position.....is a position being opened, and if yes with what type broker? Or is this on a german exchange somewhere?
I double checked on the nasdaq site, same numbers, so no mistake.
Can you play this as a short squeeze at some time or not, do all those short shares ever have to cover?
