USO and tax issues

I have heard that because USO is structured as a partnership(when you buy USO you are buying "units", not shares) , it ends up complicating your tax situation.

Does anybody have experience with this?

if I short USO, will there be any special tax ramifications? that yahoo thread posted above has got me worried
