Using real names on message boards

I don't think changing credit card numbers or closing accounts is a good idea. I closed an account after a minor theft and forgery of one of those so-called "convenience checks" from my mail. Once I did that, the credit card bank completely disavowed that the account ever existed and refused to help me at all.

Recently, I double check with my credit card company and they strongly advise not to let our credit cards out of our site at stores, restaurants et cetera and to watch very carefully how the clerk is handling your credit card.

Simply, your card should not leave your eyesight.

They also said its estimated that 70 - 80% of all credit card skimming incidents are occurring in restaurants by the person you hand your credit card to.
