Tony,
We have a variety of games that we play. I'm thinking about starting another thread about them. Some of the games are:
2 card choosy, with a buy (HI-LO). Highest hand is two aces. Lowest hand is ace, duece. Deal one down, bet, deal second card down and roll one up (roll your own), bet, optionally exchange your up or down card with a new card from the deck for a buck (buy), bet, coin declare (under the table put none for low, one for high, two for both - must beat both to win both), bet again and see who the winners are.
El Diablo (5 card draw, call your own wildcard, if you open you must win or MATCH the pot). I refuse to open any more. Twice in the past I have opened with 5 of a kind, took no cards on the draw, bet my ass off, and got beaten both times by a higher 5 of a kind (5 Aces).
Oklahoma (Sometimes called Omaha)
Low Blow Hole (7 card stud, low in the hole is wild. Pay extra to have the last card up)
7, 28
13, 33
Blue
Two card Monty
Auction This is a great game. (HI-LO) A,2,3,4,5 being the best low so you can go both ways. I play commissioned. Deal 6 cards to each player. Deal 4 spit cards. The dealer flips over the first spit card, an open auction commences. The purchaser discards a card and the auction commences - except this time the seller gets a 50% commission of the card he just discarded. When no one bids on a card it is burried and the next spit card is turned. After bidding is finished, discard one card, arrange your cards an lay them down. Everyone flips a card and bets. After 4 cards are flipped, coin declare and final betting round.
The great thing about this game is that you can be a seller. I hold the record of $50 for a card. The guy who sold it was extremely happy that he got $25. Usually 10 bucks is a lot for a card. 50 cents is a bargain.
Pass the trash
3 Card choosy
5 card choosy(stud) with a buy
Texas Hold'em
5 card stud
There are others, these are the latest popular ones. It is good to mix it up after playing for so many years. We are alway making new games or variants.
Mike
