Using Oanda - What charting do you use besides Oanda's ?

A problem with MCFX is that it can't store history data
on your harddrive. So whenever you start the program
or change timeframe it has to download everyhing
again from FXCM. That makes it completely useless for
intraday trading IMO.

That's very bad. :(

Thanks for pointing out this little detail.

Maybe I`ll stick with Multicharts with my DDE connection
to Metatrader. No tick history though. :( And constant
crashes.

Dear mangudai,

MCFX doesn't download all the data 'whenever you start the program or change timeframe' from FXCM. All the data is stored on our server. And data transfer from the server is very fast - that is why there is no need to store data locally on the computer. Apart from that, most programs work in exactly the same way.

Best regards.

Then there is "Multicharts", a nice Tradestation clone, which is not free. Its quotemanager is buggy, for example. Maybe you may do a trial first. I currently use and begin to like it, maybe I subscribe to their forex platform, which is "MCFX". It has 6 years of tick history and an excellent programming language. I don't know if it's full of the same bugs like Multicharts.

:)

Dear Seelenverkäufer,

I am afraid I can't agree that MultiCharts is a 'TradeStation clone'. A clone would be something copying the functionality without any innovations. MultiCharts on the other hand, has a large number of functons unavailable in TS 8.

Also, could you please specify what problems you have encountered working with QuoteManager? What bugs are there?

Thank you.

Best regards.
