Apparently according to his other post $2000 is 10%. That is an awesome accomplishment. Adds up to 77% annual profit. Might not be enough to live on currently but if Newbie can continue this he is on the path to great success. Trick is to be able to do this consistently.

2003 was a tough year for systems.

Why?

Low volatility is probably the main reason. If you follow real-time results published by several trading system brokers (attain capital, trade center inc, striker, zap, etc.), you will see a large majority of the tracked systems suffering.

We find that, with constant human intervention and minor "tweaking" that the "brain" is still the best "system" available. We like to see "tools" augment the "brain" but in the end, the trader makes the money.
