User Block feature is ass backwards.

If you read my past few posts you will find them. Essentially, he makes it sound like he just came up with yet another system that targets and risks only ticks here and there via the DOM. The thing is that in the ES, there are so many flushes, his "rules" of soft and hard 3 or 4 tick stops would get run over. The DOM is also quite difficult to read, in my opinion, because its not like the bonds lets say, with much thicker liquidity. I watch the pulling and stacking of bids/offers, and just when it looks like its going one way, it goes in the complete opposite direction. Essentially, operating on such a small time frame is extremely difficult/impossible to do.

He makes it sound like he is all automated, and then makes it sound like he has this new system he is trading manually. I ask to see how he has his DOM set up to do this, and nothing, no reply. He has gone around telling people he trades hundreds of ES contracts, and frankly, he sounds like a one man hedge fund.

and its funny how these just stop. When you block the ability of the very few traders we have on here who actually have a clue to comment on some of these claims, you enter fairy tale trading world.

Listen, so much of what he says sounds great, but then if you're gonna go into some specifics, show it. And this is where the friendly and helpful attitude stops. The guy says he can have 80 ES trades in the first hour or 90 minutes, trading hundreds of contracts, averaging into positions. Jesus, when it goes against you, and it does very quickly, what then? He says he has a 90% win rate. Claims like this need to be backed up. He has time to mark up charts with where trades "could" be taken, on a very crappy and old looking platform, and yet cannot submit one chart with the trades actually marked by the platform.

Sounds like someone doesn't get it. Its all about trying to make something better, hence why this was posted in the feedback forum. I'm hoping @Baron sees it and comments. I really couldn't care less about what Handle posts or doesn't post, but when there is the potential to suppress information that may be valid, its important to bring this forward.

There is far more damage caused by bashers that always attack postings from others. The block should stay and should be used a lot more. Bashers are the target for this total block. They write so much nonsense that posters with real interesting knowledge will stay away. That loss is far more problematic.

I agree. The "log off" loophole should be closed as well.

I am afraid that this is impossible as that would mean that visitors cannot read anything anymore. Because if you log off you have the visitor status I think.
Watch how many members are logged in and how many visitors. You will see that there are much more visitors than members. It would be bad for Baron's $$$ profits.

I understand what you guys are saying about the bashers. But we exist an industry where deceit, trickery and preying on the ignorant is the norm. Bashing as you call it can serve the purpose of shining a light on dishonesty. Where is the line between calling someone on the changing story of their history and bashing?

Prime example; Remember the dbphoenix guy? He had a lot of "bashers", and if I remember correctly he asked for the ability to moderate his own thread so he could have a rational discussion without the trolls. He was later banned as a stealth vendor (an accusation the bashers had been making).

There is a fine line in there somewhere. I have no doubt that Baron put more than a little thought into the block before it was implemented. And it probably helps more than hurts. But I can also see it as a way for the more dishonest among us to shield themselves.

The thing though is that this website is not meant to be some trash talking National Enquirer type of website where you expect that everything posted is going to be fake and photoshopped. If I come here with the expectation that everything is going to be a joke and fake, might as well not come.

I understand. I think greater harm is done to the site when people with something meaningful refuse to contribute for fear that a fight will start.

The only ones willing to post in a juvenile environment are those with nothing to lose and something to gain...not those with real knowledge to give. If the nonsense stopped, you may find the quality of posts go up.

We've seen bashing start just on someone's hunch that what another is saying is impossible. And all, most?, bashers may not have "good" intentions. Since when really, do "traders" care about educating the competition. I suspect most of the bashing is ego based, sour grapes, or some other psychological reason.

I'd bet that more harm is done to the site by bashers than by folks embellishing their trading prowess. Baron can deal with the vendors...just report the post.

No one wants to hang around what looks and sounds like a Junior High School playground, except.....
