USD/CAD taking off?

Why in the world would the US dollar actually go up and not down right after Goldman Sachs gets sued by the SEC? Yes, I was watching my platform when I saw the news on Bloomberg. Went down to 1 min candlesticks to see what was happening. The price took off right at the time of the news.
 
Maybe it's good news for the dollar. USD went up today against Euro (despite new doubts regarding Greece bailout) and against GBP (despite increased probability of hung parlament).
 
crude is looking ugly tonite. Shorted the CAD futures @ 9855 because I believe crude will drag CAD down across the board.
