If the USA would like to live just on their own and forget all other countries they will go back to the stone age.
The US exports about 1.5 trillion dollars that would not be exported anymore. So it should not be produced anymore, which means high unemployment unless the US itself would buy these 1.5 trillion dollar products. But as they don't buy it now why should they buy it then? They don't need these unnecessary products.

Same problem with 2.5 trillion imports. They import for some reason: cannot produce it themselves or the raw materials are not found in the US. So many products would not be available anymore.

You have a very simplistic way of thinking and you have no clue about the positive impact of globalism. Just like your idol Trump.

Outside the US we should then block Google, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Apple, Coca Cola, Mc donalds, Boeing, ....
And the US would have this year a shortage of probably over a billion masks resulting in much more deaths as these masks had to be bought in China.

Globalism is a sickness. Terrible disease. Worse than covid.

I remember a time when the world wanted "made in the USA". Then came globalism..and opening of China via Nixon and Clinton and Bushes and now the world depends on China. That is bad! All globalism has done is make corporations richer while workers suffer. It is an absolute scourge on the face of the earth and the downfall of the common man. It does benefit the elite, politicians, corporations.

America can make anything we really need and make it well. I am not against selling products to the rest of the world if they want to buy them from us at our price but all these unfair, one way, trade deals kill our manufacturing base and create sweat shops in other lands. We should produce quality products with American workers then if the world wants to buy them do so. It not, let them stick with China. We won't need them. Globalism has destroyed our work base...our jobs...our work ethic. Now we have created a bunch of bottle sucking babies running around wanting socialism and handouts. Enough said?
