US Troops in Syria, Its only a matter of time

There is no way the EU can have this many refugees coming into the EU. The one way to stop it is to actually choose one side to support and actually provide them with the backing required for a quick victory. The EU will come to conclusion but of course, will be too chicken shit to actually take the steps required. The EU will come to the US to do the job. This is on the horizon.

yes, that's what we need, a nice quick victory.....as soon as we figure out how to kill the bad guys without killing too many good guys. Once they hide their weapons and mix in with the crowd they all look the same to me.

At which point we will be in conflict with Russia which has started to greatly increase their backing of the Assad regime in the past few weeks with more advisors, more armor, more aircraft, and more weapons.

Perhaps cutting a deal with Assad is the best option. Get him to make some token concessions, create a "safe zone" inside Syria for the refugees and then arm him to the teeth to take out ISIS. At least his soldiers for the most part are willing to fight (whats left of them).

I think Assad is the most clear path to victory. No matter who is in charge it is going to be a shithead, so lets go with the shithead we know and who is most organized.

Why dont we just focus on killing the bad guys? When the US focused on killing the bad guys we actually won wars.

There will be no need for US troops. We should let the Russkies sort this mess out. They are far better at dealing with these kinds of problems. They do not require commanders to get lawyers to approve every action they take, and CNN does not get to go along to record every interaction and make an international incident out of it.

The real crux of the problem here is that obama's foreign policy is so messed up that we don't know which side to back. We have Assad, whom Obama has repeatedly targeted and who is aligned with Russia and Iran. So supporting him is awkward at best. Plus, the big check writers in Saudi Arabia and Qatar want him out. But the alternative is ISIS, the group secretly financed by our supposed allies, the "friendly" muslims in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Gulf states. ISIS have done us the huge favor of demonstrating that "peaceful" islam is a big lie, but we certainly can't support a group that uses religious justification for murder, kidnapping, rape and slavery.

Russian military build-up in Syria ‘unprecedented,’ officials say

U.S. officials are expressing growing concern about Russia's military build-up in Assad-controlled Syria, calling it "unprecedented" -- with one telling Fox News it compares in scope to Vladimir Putin's incursion into Crimea.

"It's beginning to look like Crimyria," the official told Fox News.

Two U.S. officials who have reviewed the latest intelligence told Fox News that satellite imagery reveals more flights of massive Russian An-124 "condor" military cargo planes landing in Syria. They are offloading troops, including just under 50 Russian marines, and armored vehicles.

U.S. officials said the Russian activity in Syria is unlike any they've seen since the start of the Syrian civil war four years ago.

"This is definitely a build-up straight out of Russia's military doctrine," said one official.

How is this like Crimyria? The Syrian regime is on deaths door and without some serious help from somebody they are going to be running for their lives and/or lined up against the wall. I am sure they are welcoming the Russians with open arms.

ok, but how many of our children should we sacrifice to solve this problem? I'm all for war, it's one of my favorite things, but I also like my grandchildren and I don't want any of them dying in some god forsaken country like Ukraine or Syria when we so desparately need them to pay for our social security.
