I think most Americans would agree that if you are playing on a national team, the least you could do is show proper respect for the flag and anthem of your country. It has nothing to do with protesting Trump or anything else. US Soccer, the coach and the rest of the team failed miserably in not enforcing appropriate behavior from her.

It was directed to the repeated comment that soccer is not an athletic sport or it is for people who don't know how to play sports. That is simply not true and just sounds like whining. You want a sport with little athletic skill look at golf or cricket.
Soccer has the least amount of skill required of any major team sport. Baseball, Football, Tennis. Basketball, or Hockey
Might be a clue really why the US has an obesity problem. Not enough kids being funneled into athletic sports like soccer because their parents think it's dumb or it's an excuse not to drive their kids to the games.

False on every level. Not that your opinion matters, youth/kids soccer has had huge growth the last 20 years in North America. It's a great sport for kids who want to live long, healthy lives.
Youth soccer got a huge boost because soft suburban kids raised on MacDonalds were not tough enough to play real boys football, so they gravitated to soccer. The real athletes played football and basketball, the less talented or smaller play soccer. Everyone knows that's the way it is.
