Oh in 2018 out of the top 5 net worth players in tennis which includes tournament winnings and endorsements, 3 were women. Out of the top 10, 6 were women. So apparently sponsors, advertisers, and tournaments do think women are on par with men in global earnings. Again, bringing in tennis does not work for your argument, it is a different animal than soccer. Individual sports are not the same in earnings as team sports.

What you are really pointing out is the lack of depth in the women's game, coupled with above-market payouts for slams. A handful of women have made out like bandits.

They see this pot of gold being threatened by trans women. Martina Navratilova has pointed this out and been viciously attacked by the gay Nazis, ironic since she was probably the first openly gay sports star. No doubt current players realize the threat but are intimidated from speaking out. The USTA is a hotbed of gay activism, so it will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Wrong. They just stage them at the same time. They only way the women can attract any spectators is to piggyback on the men's tournament.

If the women did not inject politics in sports, there probably, will be more interest in women's soccer. Ridiculous that if you want to watch any sport for that matter, these days, you have extreme liberal athletes shoving their political views on you when all you want to do is watch the games! That is why I have boycotted the NBA and NFL altogether! Too many garbage athletes preaching their views instead, of just playing the sport?

This whole thread is a bunch of angry dumb guys hating on women on the internet. I read today that internet sites in general are dominated by the 10% most committed participants and that establishes the character of the site. Clearly that 10% here is mostly women hating, "left" hating, minority hating guys who have limited ability to think critically and feel the need to lash out at the world online. Successful women get some of the worst of it on here; this thread is embarrassing to anyone who cares about humanity and people respecting people.

If we pull up all posts on this site the last few years that focus on a women, any women on this planet, pretty much every single one of them is either bashing them severely and/or judging them on their looks. It would be very hard to find posts that praise women or note them on their accomplishments.

The real world has millions of really successful women and superficial ideals like looks hardly matter. I shudder at what some of the women in their lives would think of these online assholes if they read their content. Is this what the trading community is all about, antisocial guys hating on the world who get by in a solitary attempt to make a living on the stock market ?

In fairness Nine, the original topic of this thread had to do with conduct by a soccer player representing her country. If she had been a male player, the issue would be the same. It's the same as the Kapernick fiasco, some grandstanding loudmouth trying to take advantage of someone else's platform. In this case, it's particularly objectionable because she is appearing as a representative of her country and thinks that is the time to insult it.
