US sanctions cotton from China, cotton price rises 100%... :-)

When did the ban have started?
Here's news from NYT dated Jan 13 2021. So the debate must have gone many months long before that date, ie. in 2020...:

It did not rise 100%. Long term average is around 80 cents a pound. It now trades at a dollar. What are you looking at to get this wrong?

In fact the Oct 2023 trades at around 80 cents right now hinting that the current elevation is gonna be short lived. Take a position if you have such strong conviction.

@earth_imperator is a commie propagandist who are doing a smear campaign on US and "the West" while promoting commie agenda. They exaggerate things and make up shit just to achieve their purpose. ET is littered with them for some very strange reason.

Xinjiang is not China!! *runs for cover* Don't know why US would import tomatoes and cotton from Xinjiang when US is a major tomato producer itself. People grow tomatoes in their backyard. LOL US also produces cotton itself as well and is actually the third largest cotton producer in the world. https://www.atlasbig.com/en-ca/countries-by-cotton-production According to this, India is now the largest cotton producer in the world. So with US' sanction on China over cotton, it's most likely importing cotton from India IF it's importing cotton because of cheaper prices since India is a larger producer.

But either way, the sanctions shouldn't have any impact on the cotton price. This is largely exaggerated. And I am only aware of sanctions on cotton from Xinjiang due to China's human rights abuse in Xinjiang but I have never been aware of any sanctions on tomatoes. Tomato is not even a major produce. It would be a waste of time for US to sanction tomatoes.
