US now spending 26% of available tax revenue just to pay interest

It will be very interesting to see where things go if rates keep climbing as expected. I guess we'll see if the MMT crowd is correct, or the Austrians finally get their inflationary spiral.
 
From the article, based on the French and Ottoman examples it would seem that the 50-60% level is the threshold for bankruptcy. The US is nowhere near that at 26%, we've got plenty of time to enjoy the party.

No seriously it's pretty grim. Just imagine what we could be spending that 415 billion on.

the debt will be reset to zero, through homicide of the creditors. Or inflate money supply to such an extreme, that you pay back in cheaper dollars.

the thing about trading, one has to read any information and weight every statements.

This is really a deplorable state of affairs, allowed to fester for decades by incompetent politicians.
The investment into America is like giving quantities of alchohol to an alchoholic. The US is killing itself and can't stop over spending. Obama is ramping up the Crimean crisis which will make the situation worse. Who cares whether a small patch of land is owned by Russians or Ukrainians ? Do we want a major war, which could easily spiral out of control, into World War 3, because of Putin and Obama ? I say NO not likely.

The whole political and economic systems need revising.

Error : your politicians are extremely competent. The problem is they are working for an agenda other than the benefit of America.
We in France are having the same problem. Our only saving grace being that
we have some very rebellous individuals who are spilling the beans. This is why
inspite of our politicians, the population is supporting these rebellous individuals with their money. For instance buying in mass these individuals books, attending their conferences on paid basis - never seen before masses paying to assist to "geopolitical" conferences. As usual French will show the way! lol.

Crimea , Ukraine
You can put in it Soudi Arabia and Qatar as they have been dealt with via
"changing their leaders mindsets".

In an other color put in Iran and Syria
Now what do you see ? who YOUR politicians are working for?
