It could be. Lax Canadian immigration controls. Much easier to fly into Central America however, and cross into the United States. Canadian Border Agency relatively speaking, is a fortress compared to the mexican-US border. Btw, where are you from?

The controls at Canadian airports are not lax. They are much more strict than the US about questioning people from The Middle East and Central / South America and rejecting their entry.
