US Healthcare A Shame vis-a-vis Canada

Anyone experienced both Canadian healthcare and the British NHS? Which one is worse?

The quality of US healthcare, whilst hideously expensive, is possibly the best in the world. After Obamacare, it will probably be reduced to a load of shit. You Yanks are crazy!! :D

this UK branch of AXA might give you private healthcare options in canada. Basically the program does not cover health care in the USA because its such a insane price for basic procedures.

I like that about the UK and France. There is a public option for healthcare, but if you want more coverage you can purchase a private policy for around 70-100 bucks a month that is a great program.

I met a Canadian recently who told me that private healthcare is illegal in Canada. You need a new heart, you get in line, son! Otherwise you hop over to the States and pay your money :D

If you love Canada so much, why are you posting on a USA website? Why not post on the Canadian website? Hey man, we are trading markets here. And like most Americans, I will be more than happy to trade in Canada, or any other country for that matter that can give me a better deal.

Besides the fact ET has a fair share of non US members and non US related topics, you're american, you're screwed, IRS will claim what it considers its due wherever you escape.

AFAIK, there is no private healthcare in Canada. If you need something done in a hurry, you have to go elsewhere, probably the US. At least here in the UK, we have the option of private healthcare.

They don't even have private hospitals geared to expats ? No american hospital ? Read a couple of reports and saw a TV report (possibly linked on ET) about waiting lines in Canada. It would be shocking that private medicine is banned ! But possible, gonna google this right away.

Apparently no American hospital in Canada, here's a link to a story about a private hospital in Canada. At least it exists although it seems to clash with state planners :

Cmb mentionned the extra insurance in France and UK, no matter how good it might be, there are plenty of private clinics and practices around Europe which charge more to much more than public hospitals but look far less grim. How good they might be is another issue although I usually trust them more.

Lick the boot of quality until it suffocates you !!

That is what is happening to American families who run into bankruptcies, 60% of them due to sudden medical costs and sky high prices.

Talk about $5 per cup of plastic glass of water and call it Oral Cleansing Therapy. EVILNESS !!

What is so special about Private Hospitals other than 50% higher costs on average?

Are you a moron or something?? and that too an EVIL one??

:D :D :D :D :D

Private healthcare in the UK is probably on a par with the best in the world. Without insurance, it is v expensive though.

How expensive is it actually though? here is the link to the insurance I had when I lived in europe. Didnt seem overly expensive to me, maybe its because I am used the USA monthly premiums for $500+. The medium plan was 140 euros a month with no deductible. The cheapest was around 100 with no deductible.

You would think that obamacare would be something similar to this, but its not even close.
