I admit to being wrong in responding to Max's interrogations.
He said I lied when I mentioned I was in Chamonix. I posted my ski pass, and he used a photo manipulation program to change my picture to a Pinocchio nosed joke.
He said I lied when I mentioned I was in Monte Carlo. I posted photographs from my hotel room obviously taken by a 4 year old, and photos of my 4 year old on the beach and also at a festival. He of course claimed that it was "just a child" and proved nothing.
Then he made a big deal out of asking me "where" I was issued my visa. I answered "Chicago". At which point he jumped for joy in that he caught me in a lie....because visas were not required to enter France. Yet then I scanned and posted my French visa, and he then claimed that he "lied" to try and prove that I had lied.
Because in actuality, a visa WAS required at that time. (so Max is permitted to lie...."for the greater good" I suppose).
He said I lied when I talked about trading on the CBOE. So I gave him the names and phone numbers of people at First Options with whom he could have easily verified my statements. That would have been no fun, so he just continued to call me a liar.
I talked about my experiences in Southeast Asia in the army. He called me a liar, and I admitted that some of what I said was an exaggeration in that I talked about some of my brother in law's experiences and combined them with my own. All to make a point, which was that there is no glory in war. This got Max into a rage. NO EMOTIONS? PLEASE!!!!
Max implied to me that he would be in my neighborhood, which he knows is Boca Raton/West Palm Beach. I offered to buy him drinks. And dinner. His response was to change MY offer, and take him for dinner in (and pay for his airfare to) Monaco.
Then I suggest that Max and I could, instead of "banging heads", have a real debate. On any subject. Not choosing which side of the issue to debate, but having that chosen for us. He has evaded this quite adeptly. I said "emotions" came into play, and I wanted to prove this did not have to be the case. Yet somehow, he claims that "emotions" have no place on a message board. Yet no one is more emotional than Max. Perhaps "passionate" is a better word. He is "passionate" about his fanatical pursuit of being antagonistic. He is "passionate" about his pursuit of the facts of the lives of others. And he is "passionate" about his desire to remain totally anonymous and will not divulge a single thing about himself. Not where he lives (not even what hemisphere), what or if he trades, his age; NOTHING.
So he will not have drinks or dinner with me, or with anyone. Because he is apparently afraid to be "found out". What it is he is hiding, I have no idea. But clearly he is very afraid of something.
I now feel sorry for Max. I really thought the "debate" would be his cup of tea. But apparently he is afraid to rise to the "challenge". This is the sure sign of a small minded and narrow minded fanatic.
Max says no one "stalks". Yet it is clearly obvious that he went back and read posts I made months and months earlier looking for contradictions. When that did not pan out for him, he just used his "charm" to try to "prove" whatever I said was devoid of veracity.
Really sad. I now picture Max in some little basement room in his parents house, with his computer books and Windows for Dummy's collection
At least he has his internet access and his political views. Which are clearly those of someone who takes the words of his "favorite pundits" as gospel. He doesn't even realize that the very people he listens to are in the entertainment business, and not as serious about their public reactionary views as Max himself is.
Max lives in a world of black and white.
The only thing I know for sure about Max in a personal sense, is this. If MAX is his last name, PETER is not his first name.
Black and white. And devoid of humor.
