US Economy is BOOMING!

"US Economy is BOOMING!"

LOL

the only thing that keeps this country the way it is, is the great amount of money and effort it puts into enforcing its laws, but think about it, as poverty continues to rise, so will crime rates, thus law enforcement will not be able to fight crime at the rate it used to ... resulting in a domino effect that will cause even more problems for the country

Looking at that food stamp chart-

The left must be star-struck with their man Obama. Where is the rage from Jessie Jackson? Anybody? What would be said if Bush was in office (not that I would want that either)?

Yep, nearly 45 million in Poverty and the economy is "BOOMING", the gap between the poor and the rich is now at the widest its ever been. The only reason for the bailout was to help the rich and wealthy that's all, there are tens of millions of people struggling but I guess since the stock market keeps going up there is no need to worry....

Remember strip out every single worthless dollar from the economy that was pushed through with stimulus and QE and the economy would be lucky to see growth of anything near 0%.

Over here on the left side we understand that when he took office jobs were being lost at a rate of 700k per month. It's now positive. The same way jobs follow the restoration of a normal expansion of work to be done, poverty goes down only as the effect of those additional jobs spreads through the economy. But given that governments around the country are still laying off, that graph is only going to get worse. The growth in private jobs is going to take time to have an effect on it.
Below is the situation he walked into: job loss in the first four months of 2009. Obama wasn't even in office until the latter half of Jan. The total for job loss in just those first four months was 2.8 million, more people than there are in most major cities.
So, he walked into the worst situation this country has faced since the Great Depression, which also started under a Republican and right wing Administration, you know.
The job loss situation has been turned around. The rest will follow, necessarily more slowly than anyone would like, because the hole was so deep.
And no, we're not going to let yet another right-winger get back in and punch the economy in the stomach, so that another Democrat has to get back in to yet again clean up the mess the right leaves behind. Not going to happen.

Quote from Landis82:

The GDP came in this morning for Q4 at 3.2%
For all of 2010, the GDP grew at 2.9%

That was the best quarterly showing in a Year.
The 2.9% annual rate was the highest since 2005.
All told, the economy produced $13.38 Trillion dollars worth of goods and services last year.

That is a new record, and surpasses the pre-recession peak reached in Q4 of 2007.

Perhaps David Kostin, market strategist at Goldman Sachs will be right about recently increasing his EPS for the S&P by $2.00 to $96.00 per share. He's also forecasting $106 for 2012.

:)

Umm, is that GDP figure corrected for inflation? Isn't that GDP figure computed from a ratio? How big was the denominator in Q4 2010 compared to say Q4 in 2005?

Small companies create jobs within America.
Big companies create jobs in China/India.

Hence Govt must break Big Companies into smaller companies.

Quote from RewriteQuran:

I think Entrepreneurs create jobs within America.
But Govt is promoting Big Companies because they're dependent on taxes.

they didn't contribute anythingor at least not much. take a google as an example..GE,GM-they all "exempt" or paying negotiable rate. can any small business owner "negotiate"their taxes with IRS?
