oh, ok, I guess China was no threat to HK nor Uighurs and the west was just "hyping it up". Their rhetoric towards Taiwan and neighbor's ships is just make belief. I also don't see anyone in DC pushing for war vs. China short of Trump who's out.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Ministry of National Defense (MND) tracked 11 Chinese military aircraft and seven naval vessels around Taiwan between 6 a.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 13) and 6 a.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 14).
Of the 11 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft, one Shaanxi Y-8 reconnaissance plane was monitored in the southwest corner of Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ), according to the MND. No PLA aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait median line during this time.
In response, Taiwan sent aircraft, naval ships, and used land-based missile systems to monitor the PLA aircraft and vessels.
So far this month, Beijing has sent 231 military aircraft and 57 naval ships around Taiwan. Since September 2020, China has increased its use of gray zone tactics by routinely sending aircraft into Taiwan’s ADIZ.

HK was definitely a showcase for overthrow the government. Luckily Beijing didn’t send in army men tanks that I expected them to. They would rather crash the uprisings than have HK go independent, that is just history.
lol, no it wasn't. While HK'ers for sure would rather be a democracy, their beef was w/China not respecting the HK/China agreement and China jumping the gun on HK's sovereignty a few years ahead of time. Of course no one in the GQP spoke up and I'd say Trump was more than happy to see it.

There was a video journalist guy Michael Yon covering HK protests, definitely looked like J6 riots but more bloods on the street. I followed him on YouTube and on his John Batchelor podcasts at that time. He is obviously on the side of protests but in his livestream videos the young people beating bystanders with steel rods, that was crazy things. The police mostly were charging and rounding up youngsters in groups.
