I got a bilingual Bible for Christmas, and since I already have a number of passages from the Bible memorized in English, memorizing them in Spanish as well will be a faster way for me to learn the language than what I started doing above (since I don't have the Librolibre.net text already established in my long-term memory, thus requiring me to, in effect, memorize the same material twice.) I will continue the above exercise also though, to help broaden my vocabulary, especially as relates to modern-day topics.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

En el principio, Dios creó los cielos y la tierra. La tierra no tenía forme y estaba vacía, y la oscuridad cubría las aguas profundas; y el Espíritu de Dios se movía en el aire sobre la superficie de las aguas.

I love the way Spanish sometimes makes sense even when we dont know the language;

Whoa! Brazil is FULL of canyons. So, I looked to see how many canyons there are in the USA and it seems like there might be more, but I'm not sure. (Looking on a map, the USA and Brazil look to be roughly the same size.) In any case, I think I like the canyons in Brazil more, because, in looking at photos of the ones here, for me, they are way too BIG! The canyons in the USA are enormous!

According to cohesive.so, there are currently nine states that have not opted into the Interstate Revenue Service Collection Program (RSCP). These states are:
  1. Florida
  2. Nevada
  3. New Hampshire
  4. South Dakota
  5. Tennessee
  6. Texas
  7. Washington
  8. Wyoming
  9. Alaska
The RSCP is a program that allows states to share information and collaborate in the collection of delinquent taxes. States that participate in the RSCP are able to track down taxpayers who owe money to multiple states and work together to collect those debts. However, participation in the program is voluntary, and the nine states listed above have chosen not to join.
