urgent help...in choosing a laptop

I would look at the IBM / Lenovo T61 Thinkpad series. I have used Thinkpads since the T30, T40 series and each release keeps raising the bar.

These laptops are built for business and are durable.

The problem with laptops is that they get hot. Even with the aircond, its still hot. How do you overcome it? Buying a notebook cooler causes the laptop to slow down. That's my main concern

1 more thing. It seems that all notebooks and PCs now come preinstalled with Windows Vista. However I prefer Windows XP. Are there any brands that allow it to be with Windows XP instead of Windows Vista? Thanks
