Unofficial TWS bug thread

Does anyone know what the various server farms serve for IB? The cashfarm one keeps cutting in and out on me today and I am wondering if it serves specific data, like the NYSE, CME or what it serves. It doesn't seem to be impacting my data flow on the futures side, but don't want to get hung in a trade if it is affecting orders or data.

I did do a search at IB, but didn't find anything specific.
 
how to disable those annoying tool tip texts all over TWS(only on lines with open orders)
it is impossible to move mouse and can see prices,sizes because of this nonsense. which btw just doesn't make any sense. you more mouse over the bid price and tool tip text pops up saying : "current price is :"
f** ! I SEE IT. or you move mouse over my own f** size-it repeat same thing. again- I SEE IT. you don't have to duplicate something that already on my page ,on front of me. not only that, the message stays,if you move mouse away, BLOCKING the rest of tickers\info on the screen. what exactly this crapper on attached pic is referring to?
if you don't know,then why it's there?

One more time-how can I disable ALL tool tip messages? After starring at TWS for 15 years I don't need any of them. They are ridiculously annoying on API page, specially if you have lot of open orders that you need to open or close. Damn thing overlaps prices, sizes.wft do I need amount of shares message for each ticker on the screen? I can't see shit thru those 'tips'. Specially wtf they are doing on API page? There is should be zero of them on that particular page that was for automated trading.its might be ok to have them on regular page, for casual users. Yet you did EXACT opposite! Is there is any common sense left in IB's software team?
 
When using IB Gateway in connection with MultiCharts 64, I do not get access to the historical market data farm and the status indicator for historical data shows permanently red. Real time data works fine. With TWS, I do not have this issue at all. This issue occurred for the first time around 6 months ago, and persists with the most recent TWS/IB Gateway releases including the betas.
 
not really a bug, just another obnoxious change to the new build. It now has this big blue line between the tool bar and the trading page which lists in big letters what page you are on, even though the page name is already listed at the top of the trading page tab. Takes up more room, and makes the configure text so small you can't read it and just looks bad.

I fixed it sort of by going back to 939
 
i'm sick and tired of TWS taking focus on itself during login.when it's loading. not sure if this is purposely designed this way(then add way to disable it) or just another prime example of bad programming practice .
given the fact that TWS loading takes quite a bit of time (and takes longer and longer as they keep adding useless crap) it is very annoying ,when you working on something else.

Not to mention that when it's loaded and it looks like the focus is on the box where you type your user name, the focus isn't there... You have to click the danged box before you can type... Just stupid, little, things like that all added up to where I have not used TWS directly for more than a decade now... can't STAND IT!
