Well I agree she definitely broke her rules and I'm certainly not defending them.

But it was in a hard kennel and that air is the same temp as the ambient air. There would be no reason for it to rise to a level that would harm the puppy. And even if it was smashed up against another bag, there would still be enough cracks that the puppy wouldn't suffocate.
I guess we'll see. Strange.

Well I guess that's why they are "thoroughly investigating". Yes we will see. It's not going to be over that quickly despite that the fact UA's PR displayed more humility this time in this "pet re-accommodating" tragedy.

If you want to witness thousands of occurrences of animal cruelty happening every day, just visit your local slaughter house. Not trying to make light of this event though...sad to hear the dog died...unless it was one of those small football-sized yappy dogs that bark at anything that moves.

So we are comparing an airline cabin to an animal slaughterhouse now? This is the standard that we are holding United Airline to nowadays? LOL And actually United Airlines is not that far off from an animal slaughterhouse. According to this article, United Airlines had the HIGHEST animal death on its flight, both in total AND in per 10,000 animals transported among all the commercial airlines in United States. Its 2017 death number also DOUBLED from the year before while all the other airlines improved on the same number.

Walking down a windowless hallway to be prodded down a confined isle, degraded, and packed into tight, unsanitary, and unpleasant conditions; restrained; dehydrated; and hungry. Seems like a reasonable comparison to me. On the bright side, the cattle have a bolt or blade to look forward to. Airline passengers just have hours of suffering these inhumane conditions.

Except we even have to pay for UA with our money that we worked our a$$ off to treat us like crap. If we don't pay, we won't even get the privilege of getting treated like cattle. LOL

Come to think of it, is UA's flight REALLY THAT cheaper than other airline companies? I haven't been taking their flights for a while but really how much do you really save on a UA flight vs with another airline? $1? $20, $50? Is the $ saved with the UA flight REALLY that worth it to suffer through all these substandard level of service? To have yourself forcefully dragged off a plane? To have your pet die when you have already taken all the precaution to properly secure it? Is air flight REALLY that much better and irreplaceable vs. a train ride or a car trip or video conferencing even? I think these would be the questions that more and more people would be asking in light of all these events.

Someone was talking about animal cruelty. I did not intend to compare airlines to slaughter houses although there are some similarities. I always feel like cattle when going through TSA.

There might be a reason for higher animal deaths on UA. Perhaps they charge less to transport animals than other airlines.
