United Airlines ( UAL)

It's a shame--we'll never know the value.

If I had to guess, I'd say they got out of this one for an even $500k.

Happy Easter.

What to Do When You’re on an Overbooked Flight

https://www.wsj.com/articles/what-to-do-when-youre-on-an-overbooked-flight-1491930615?tesla=y

Airline crews are particularly sensitive to noncompliant customers on the ground, where they can easily boot someone off a flight. Passengers have complained in many incidents of crews abusing that authority and having passengers removed for the slightest disagreement. Bottom line: If a crew member says you have to get off a plane, federal law says you have to comply.

Your Rights as a Customer
An airline ticket is really a contract that the airline will transport you from one city to another. You actually haven’t purchased a specific flight or a specific seat; the airline can change all that on you. When the airline bumps you to a different flight, you are entitled to compensation, but only in certain circumstances.
would a broken nose be one of those circumstances? :D

Looks like United has done it again. They REALLY need to go out of business!

Well, they're learning at least:

“This was a tragic accident that should never have occurred, as pets should never be placed in the overhead bin. We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them. We are thoroughly investigating what occurred to prevent this from ever happening again.”

That sounds suspicious to me. It was in its kennel. The overheads are far from airtight, its not like its gonna suffocate.

It might have been hit on its head by one of those hard suitcases that's stuffed in the overhead bin or it could be blocked in by those duffel bags and got overheated. It's just a 10-month old puppy! If it's small enough to be carried into the cabin, it must not be a big dog.

Either way that airhead stewardess (no she doesn't deserve to be called flight attendant) violated a rule by forcing the passenger to put the dog in the overhead bin.

Well they don't really have a choice this time. They are 100% in the wrong here. The stewardess violated a rule set by the FAA. The stewardess and United Airlines could and should be criminally charged for Animal Cruelty, Endangering an Animal Causing Death. The poor dog died! :(
