I was discussing this recently with a Southern US cousin. He agrees with me that new immigrants hold on to being all red-white-and-blue too tightly in an embarrassing, UN-American way too often not having fully assimilated really.
Let them vote as normal with everything else but only people past 2nd generation to vote in Presidential elections?

Some of them take that assimilation bit a bit too far and don't realize they're not welcome unless white.
