Under the shadow of the Iraq war, Israel practices asassination....

Quote from ARogueTrader:

If we take religion out of the equation, why did the Brits and the rest of the civilized world condemn the recent attacks by Israel, but he US refused to do so?

What is this "special" love affair that we have, that blinds us to Israel's actions?

Europe has many Muslims now. And Europe cares more about appeasing 1 billion people than some long maligned, libeled people in some tiny, postage stamp country. And Israel, after giving the Egyptions back the Sinai, doesn't sit atop those great big "black gold" fields.

Honestly, in America, do we hear equal representation of both sides of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict?

Do we listen objectivley and dispassionately?

I would say that largely depends on what "America" you're referring to. If you mean the America of the college campuses, hell no I don't think those people are getting the full story; those people are practically Hamas mouthpieces.

In any case, why do you seem to think that we, the particpants in this debate, haven't "heard from both sides"? I heard, and I judged. Obviously there are always "two sides to a story", but just because John can tell you why he killed Jack doesn't mean John was justified in killing Jack. I've heard most of the Palestinian side (probably a lot more than most people), and taken alone, yeah, they do appear to have some points. But when I look at the whole, it just seems so clear to me that the Jews are far more in the right than the Palestinians. Almost completely so.

No we don't, cause most mainstream news outlets actually are biased against Israel. There is so much Saudi money flowing around the US, including in many universities, quietly funding propagandist campaigns against Israel (most people don't even realize how many organizations, marches, university programs, etc are totally or partially funded by Saudi groups).

And that is why, most Americans know quite a bit about the abuses the Palestinians claim, but know very little in fact about how much Israel has tried in the past to negotiate and work towards peace, how extreme the PA itself is (most people didn't realize that right after Arafat would say kind things in English he would talk terrorism in Arabic), and most Americans don't actually fully realize how vulnerable Israel is to terrorism (and hence why they have to be strong in standing up for themselves).

That's a very valid point. Western europe is every day becoming a bigger and bigger hotbed of anti-semitism, thanks to their soaring muslim populations. It's also, imo, a significant reason places like france opposed the Iraq op so much, because their muslim population would probably have erupted over it. I wouldn't be looking to europe for leadership in resolving israel. Not if you want an equitable, workable solution.

Yes, the desire for peace and quiet. I'm all for kept women.

Do you believe that the Palestinians would still be sending suicide bombers to Israel if an independent Palestine was in existence? [/B]

LMAO. YES. Suicide bombers and / or some form of violence. Don't you understand these terrorists want the destruction / elimination of Israel???

The real question is: What would happen if these uneducated savages, (the Palestinians) stopped their violence altogether; stopped their violence both now and in the future?

Murder is wrong. It is wrong to assassinate people.

So, in your opinion, the people who tried to assassinate Hitler were wrong to do so? It was wrong for the Polish to murder invading Nazi troops?

Agreed. The Liberal colleges' campus PC police contingents pet project of the last two years has been to lobby the turstees to divest from anything related to Israeli commerce. Add to this Middle East studies which are biased in favor of Arabs.

Thier last project was to get men get kicked out of school for entering a girl during sex without explicit verbal consent. And then deported to Israel.

It's been 25 years, but if that had been the case when I was a student, I'd have been booted 400 times.

We can have an ethics discussion if you want.

THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

I don't subscribe to "end justifies the means" scenarios.
