Under pressure from the white house, Mccabe fired hours from retirement.

No need to spin this. The FBI themselves want this slug out. He played partisan politics, chose sides, and now suffers the consequences. If the "rank and file" have a problem with this, their asses need to go as well. They are either above playing politics, or they're not. All of this cop hero worship needs to be earned, not given.

"The FBI’s OPR then reviewed the report and underlying documents and issued a disciplinary proposal recommending the dismissal of Mr. McCabe. Both the OIG and FBI OPR reports concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor − including under oath − on multiple occasions.

"The FBI expects every employee to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and accountability. As the OPR proposal stated, 'all FBI employees know that lacking candor under oath results in dismissal and that our integrity is our brand.'"

Integrity is their brand. Earn it bitches.

He chose sides? You are a Trump loyalist and tomorrow you would attack Ivanka Trump as a cunt bitch whore if she was critical of him.

There is nothing in your head beyond a small cloud of emotional ideas. You are nothing. You lost you place, so tap away.

Yup, they used the same rhetoric when ousting Comey. "He used his position against Hillary! This isn't a political hit job at all see!"

Then Trump went and shit all over that charade when interviewing with Lester Holt.
My point is that the FBI and Justice department have become political weapons for both sides. So has the CIA, NSA and all other agencies. It's bullshit, and I'm tired of hearing how pure these fucking people are supposed to be. It's bullshit and everyone knows it.

Many of the these former high-ranking FBI guys become Directors of Security for large corporations earning big bucks. Don't know if McCabe is interested in this route or if all the publicity will hurt his corporate opportunity.

He may simply go the 'interviews, book deals, and "news consultant"' route for a while but that has a limited shelf life of a year or so only.

He could start a fly fishing store, he might become a trader, I make his annual pension in a couple of days very often, why not? :)

None of us know what he was holding back, why or if he was. Shit just gets made up these days. I have a large US extended family. A couple of the cousins are FBI and I've talked to them as recently as last Christmas.

Any monkey can become a cop, to join the FBI one must usually have an advanced degree and take a tiny fraction of the salary a ~1% body and mind could make in industry.

I know people are people but what I have seen is people who actually do care and they love the idealised essence of their culture. I can say for sure, the cousins are deeply reflective and not willing to go into any extreme views on politics.

Guys like Wildchild who know the value of nothing, just creeps wanting to scratch their bellies and yawn and fart on a Sunday(Monday-Friday) are thankfully too far gone to matter.

We will have a better idea in six months.

Well my essential thoughts on firing a guy hours from retirement based on political motives and very little evidence of wrong doing is basically this...

FWIW, McCabe is a witness in Mueller's investigation and will corraborate comey's testimony.

Heh, McCabe will be there as a witness alright in an obstruction trial against trump if it ever happened. A witness for the trump defense. McCabe is the nightmare that Mueller needs to make go away now, along with Strzok and Page.

Once they bring criminal charges against McCabe for all the other stuff that the IG and the soon-to-be-appointed special counsel have on him, he will be a witness AGAINST Comey in an attempt to plea deal his way into a situation where he gets to be with his family rather than in the slammer.

No doubt the upcoming interviews, book deals, and "news consultant" gigs will pay handsomely.

He is going to be up to his eyeballs just trying to stay out of prison in the next couple years.
Anyone who thinks they don't have more on McCabe now than has been revealed has gotta be nuts. He is looking at criminal charges.

I very much doubt it. I don't believe they have sufficient evidence to charge McCabe with anything that would hold up in court. If they did have evidence beyond "we didn't like him arranging a press meeting for two agents" then they would announced their plans to take criminal action as part of the announcement of firing him (just like they have done for FBI agents fired with cause in the past).

My basic take is that the Justice Department is going to take a beating for firing McCabe if they have no evidence of criminal wrong doing that can hold up in court. They may try a feeble effort to indict him for something but this means they will need to hand over the IG report and all the related material which will make the FBI and Justice Department look very bad.

IMO unless the Justice Department has clear grounds for indicting for firing McCabe with cause which are criminally indictable, they would have been better off just letting him quietly slide into retirement. However since Donald Trump so clearly wanted in enact his "revenge" this entire situation turned into a political witch hunt -- and this firing is no more than a political retribution action.

The sad part is that the firing and future court case over the firing (which I assure you will be coming) will keep McCabe in the news cycle for the next two years --- the entire time it will make look Donald Trump look bad -- which is exactly what Trump does not like.
