Again, I'm not - in any way - excusing anything Trump has said or done during the course of this election. And again, I am happy he is going away.

All I am saying is that we should have taken extra care to provide a very transparent process. We did not. And because of it we will suffer, and we can't throw stones at other countries that aren't transparent.

I too am okay with Trump being gone. What I am not okay with is how it's being done. Long term this is disastrous for our election process. Trust is virtually wiped out, and it's going to cut both ways down the road.
Most of America is rolling over for this because in the short term a Trump victory would have brought violence and chaos on a mass scale, perhaps as we have never seen before. Who wants that? I mean really, no sane person actually wants some "civil war". So in the short term we dodge that bullet, but longer term it's going to be the chosen strategy. Eventually it does blow up into an actual streetfighter, but for now we kick the can down the road. I don't envy the young in this country.
Honestly I swing between relief and shame watching this unfold. Relieved the fight has been delayed, ashamed of being some frighted old man. Real bitch getting old. I suppose still having something to lose plays a part in all of this. One day that too will be gone and that is when the shit hits the fan.

All States had a form of absentee or mail in voting prior to the election. Never before have States mailed ballots to registered voters without the the voter requesting them. There was no attempt to verify addresses, if the voters still lived at those addresses or if they were literally alive. The rules were changed a few months if not weeks before the election. The whole “we’ve been doing it” is a non sequitur.

Agree. This is a real problem. Sending ballots out unsolicited which include a prepaid return envelope is not the way that this is supposed to work.

This is not our fight anymore, jarhead. Now is our time to enjoy our later years with our family, and stay out of history's way. All samurai must sheathe their sword someday.

The best we can do is impart our knowledge on the youth and encourage them to think critically instead of doing what they are told all the time.

I completely agree that he has reshaped politics. The next Trump (and make no mistake, there will be another populist that comes to power) will be far more shrewd and far more dangerous because he (or she) will have learned the lessons of this.

People with any shred of intelligence will never ever trust the system we have in place as of today. The entire polling system needs to be overhauled. The election process itself is too easily manipulated and in close elections that matters, it matters alot. Fraud doesn't have to be widespread to swing a close election.
All this shows me is that we are descending more and more to third world government. The economy is being wrecked purposely. The media, the entire media activity engages in a broad campaign of misinformation. Best we can hope for now is universal basic income so you can buy your legal drug of choice which will keep you comfortably numb while they rape you of every freedom you ever had.

Whether it is requiring IDs, purging voter rolls, or actually creating roadblocks in transparency as seen in PA, it sure does seem like Democrats are well coordinated and have an ulterior motive.

Further, it seems astonishing that Democrats can keep winning giving their history of not representing their constituents or solving problems.

Perhaps they were collected, fraudulently filled out and submitted, no matching signatures or proof of identity required. As profound as that statement is, we assume it’s not the case but we can’t prove or disprove it. We should be able to verify the authenticity of every vote but the process we are using prohibits that.

And therein lies the rub with mail in voting. The only way to affirm that the person who voted was entitled to do so is the "signature match". I'm not sure how you sign your checks, but my signature looks like someone gave a sharpee to a doberman.

When I voted, in person, in Florida I was asked to show my driver's license. I did, I got my ballot. I cast my ballot.

Not completely fool proof but pretty damned secure.
