Quote from CaptainObvious:
The stench is coming from so many places it's difficult to know where to begin. Fact is being replaced with fiction in real time. Listening to the propaganda machine you would think that Gadhafi woke up one morning a couple weeks ago and just arbitrarily started attacking his own people and cities. What he's doing, what any government would do, is trying to squash a rebel uprising against his government. He is within his rights to do just that. The oppressed rebels are within their rights to rebel. What's not right is our intervention into this mess, and trying to call it a humanitarian effort is an insult to the intelligence of any thinking person who has watched world events unfold over the past decade(s).
Our media is offering what can only be described as tepid support, but support none the less. Poor things are caught in a corner. Had Bush pulled a stunt like this they would be all over his war mongering ways. Not this time! Now it's their boy in the drivers seat. It's disgusting and humorous watching them try to convince themselves we're doing the right thing, for the right reasons. Their sheepish looks give them away. They know it's bullshit, but the spin must go on to protect the "chosen one". Bet your last buck we won't hear much about collateral damage or the killing if innocents as our missiles take out targets of opportunity.
What's even more insulting is this, we have a coalition built to support this invasion into another Muslim country. That line of bullshit may sell here, but anyone with half a brain knows that's not how it will be sold in Pakistan, or any other place where radical Islam dwells. No, it will be the dirty Americans and their western allies once again invade where they have no business, and they'll be the right.
Make no mistake, this little adventure will come back to haunt us, and the blood will be on our hands to demonstrate undeniable guilt.
