Hey traderdawg - I've heard from quite a few sources now that Trade the News is supposed to be the 2nd best after a Bloomy/Reuters pro setup. Is it really that good? And does it cover European news and eco#'s as well? And what's the price for a subscription? They don't say that on their website.Quote from traderdawg:

As for DJ NewsWire - That stuff is said to be "retail grade", i.e. pretty late in the releases etc in comparison to the pro feeds. Good for knowing what's on, but not sufficient for actually trading on news.
They don't really do european news - but they do recaps and are on the air really early. Eco #s - they are very good at, Price - I got $450 but paid for a year so I could get the discount.
I've just read a thread about it, saying it isn't anymore nearly as good as it used to be - is there any truth to that? What's your experience? How have you been going lately? Can you honestly say the feed is worth $450/month to you in terms of real dollars? I'd rather pay $5K/month for first-rate feed than $500 for an iffy one.Quote from traderdawg:

Last thurs. they announced the GSK/IPXL court ruling 5 to 10 minutes b/f any wire - and let us know it too. It popped $2+ off that - paid for the whole year. You just gotta listen up - b/c it's a bummer if you miss them.
3000 lots at a clip? I don't think so. I've been trading the bund for 10 years and RARELY see that kind of size go at once. I can see building into that kind of position and scaling out but do not see 3000 lots going at once.
people rarely pay desk fees like 1750 quids a month in u.s.a.(if at all). at 1750 quids a month you probably getting some tools that you hardly ever use. sounds like a raw deal to me. i noticed that everything in uk is high priced whether it is financial times of london at 1 pound vs ws. wall street journal at $1.
it is a difference in business mentality. at 1750 quids you are basically covering the average cost and any commissions you pay will be mostly profit to the arcade.(forget about marginal cost- that is covered many times over with this kind of model) there is very little incentive to owners to train and motivate you if they can collect these kind of monies

I wonder about this, too. I watch the bund all day long, and never seen such a size. And if it goes, then it's over-the-counter and not inside market. Trading 3K at once would even bring the bund pretty madly out of whack methinks. Great way to get turned into shark food.Quote from BundMaster:

It's 100% true. This guy was not a scalper, he was going for at least 30 ticks so what's the problem if you enter on 3 levels of depth. You can't imagine how big some prop traders bet at investment banks. We were allowed to make big bets because the head of the dealing room was an ex prop trader himself (ex JPM) and was still trading huge sizes , particularly in the 30yr us bond. At the time, our boss was the biggest client of JP Morgan futures outside USA.
