Britain after losing it's Empire has been suffering from the aftershock.
Many of the older folk in the ex colonies sincerely wish that the UK hadn't abandoned them to the greedy selfish people who have since ruled extremely badly in many cases.
Some good lessons could be learnt by the UK and also by the US in how to manage their economies from countries such as Sweden, Australia etc. who didn't plunge themselves into such awful debt.

Britain wasnât perfect but a lot of countries suffered from them leaving. I think any country with that insanely high amount of influence over the whole world is never a good thing. Global empires are usually eventually disastrous.
