We are adding ~2,000 hospitalizations a day now. Along with ~1400 deaths and ~30,000 positive cases. My friends in the medical field are absolutely slammed. Turn off the fake news and take a visit to a hospital to see for yourself. Remember if your news source involved listening to a pundit you are being lied to - full stop. NYC is packing bodies into meat fridge trucks because the morgues have run out of space.

The economy is already screwed up. Implying the china virus is the only reason is hilariously uninformed.

Here's the math problem you are solving:

You have X people who need care
You have Y number of "care packages" - these are supplied either through pseudo-capitalism (the US) or socialism (everywhere else). In both cases proper ventilators, masks, vaccines, and prophylactics take time and money but most importantly you can't add more money to make less time.

However, notice that Y < X at all times and X grows unbounded for as long as the virus isn't controlled. Notice also that Y is strictly bounded from above.

Imagine you're on a battlefield and you just took on heavy casualties because of enemy shelling. There are dying men everywhere and not enough corpsmen to go around. In your triage center you have to decide now who lives in and who dies because Y is strictly bounded and new supplies are perhaps months out, and X is growing unbounded with each passing minute. We don't possess quantum teleportation so supplies need to be made, shipped, and warehoused. We can't improve that situation (and I can tell you the reason the CDC didn't stock the supplies after the swine flu isn't because of a socialist boogieman). Who do you choose? Rationally, we'd say ourselves, our families, and our friends. Unfortunately, you do not get this choice and neither do the doctors. It's necessary to implement this type of triage for as long as X grows unbounded against Y.

This is why China should be held in a UN tribunal for crimes against humanity (for withholding and stopping information), the WHO should be held in front of a UN tribunal for the same reason, and the current leadership in the US (which is the only thing relevant to me) should be looked at with serious scrutiny over their inaction. Much like most major mistakes it's not one thing that causes the collapse of control. It's a series of often avoidable fuck ups that snowball into one huge unavoidable fuck up. We are now rolling downhill on a giant snowball of fuck and NYC is leading the charge.


No one, and I mean no one wants to implement a reverse triage system and condemn people to die. But so long as people, especially young people, ignore quarantine and risk getting exposed these things will be necessary. If you want to show your distaste for this type of quarantine - stay the fuck inside. Mask up when you go get groceries. Please.
