UC Berkeley vs. liberals

About 20 people occupied a University of California at Berkeley building Friday afternoon to protest what organizers said is a lack of minority students enrolled at the university.

"We are demanding an end to discrimination in UC Berkeley's admissions policies," BAMN organizer and UC Berkeley student Matt Williams said.

According to protesters, even though minority students comprise about 50 percent of the state's high-school graduates, they make up about only 18 percent of UC Berkeley freshmen.....

...On Monday, a federal appeals court in San Francisco rejected a challenge by BAMN and 46 minority students to a voter-approved ban on affirmative action in UC admissions.

According to a written ruling issued by the court, the three-judge 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel was bound by a 1997 decision of the same court upholding the ban, which was part of the voter initiative Proposition 209, enacted in 1996.

The proposition bans state and local government preferences for minority groups and women in public education, employment and contracting.

Very interesting, I didn't know that uberliberal UC Berkeley had banned AA for admissions. These folks are some of the same assholes that will rip corporations and the like for not having AA, if UC Berkeley doesn't want to sacrifice excellence at the alter of liberalism and race politics, why should anyone?

More interesting though is that liberals and race hustlers who taught minorities to hate and that equality of outcomes, not equality of opportunity, is what they should have, are now having to face the consequences. Hispanics and blacks cannot compete at high school, then complain about lack of opportunity when UC Berkeley doesn't want them. They will soon be the majority in CA and I bet UC Berkeley will have thousands of underperformers jammed down their throats. Part of me is laughing, but to watch my country turn into a Mexico-Haiti style shithole run by liberal empty suits like Obama is pretty sobering.
