U.S. July, Aug. payrolls revised up 118,000

Quote from Avid_Consumer:

lol, if any previous month can be adjusted by such massive margins as is frequently the case, why would anybody pay attention to the number at all? doesn't that make the releases sort of.... meaningless from a policy making perspective?

exactly right.

the number can be adjusted to which ever way they want it.

Its a made up number.

When you know the number in advance, you make risk free money, were the futures up .50% before this number was released, hum thats strange.

While I'm trading this market (meaning I was long coming into it) I wouldn't be surprised later if there was some sort of executive decree or some homeland security reason the government needs to be able to set the BLS numbers by their adjustments.

OTOH a very good day for me, but Beaker is also true, the conditions are for hawkish conditions, not dovish!

The number was clearly leaked into the Bond pits @ 8:25AM.
They were down 7 tics in advance of the release.

Where is Clarence Beeks when you need him?

yes it's disgusting
Clearly bonds were sold off several minutes before 8:30

Probably the same people who knew about rate cuts. Nowonder goldman beats quarter after quarter
