School districts are strained as to how to make up the budget deficits as the transportation departments now eat a huge chunk of available funds just gassing up the buses

I know how they could save some money in my area - stop giving every friggin kid door to door service. I walked to school in junior and senior high and before that I walked a 1/2 mile to the bus stop. I don't know when this started or which "think of the children" rallying cry caused it to happen but it's really ridiculous. Probably started around the time they enacted laws to force kids to wear bike helmets, back in my day you busted your head, it was a rite of passage. Now get off my lawn.

No one has a good word for the young Mr. Stokes who confronted the situation with piling up 7-8 courses to finish up a bachelor degree in enginnering/management? How many traders here have even attempted to ever buckle down studying hard science courses, let alone doing so while caring for a family?

I still shake my head when I see this...namely because half the time I'm behind the bus itself
