The UK is involved in a major ongoing war as a coalition partner.
The US has been "bombing the shit out of 'em" at an unprecedented level recently and that makes recruitment for such attacks easier. Right or wrong, it is happening so the number of people getting militant is soaring. That taxes the intelligence services etc.
What you are doing is similar to bitching about the incompetence of the fire brigades as regardless of how much fire safety promotion work they do and keeping fire engine response times low, fires still happen.
When you are at war, you can't expect no consequences whatsoever, considering the situation it could be far worse so give thanks to the people who are keeping it that way.
