U a Scalper? Daytrader? Intra-day trader? Fader?

U a Scalper? Daytrader? Intra-day trader? Fader?

how do you define these?

Scalpers make 50-500 traders oer day

Daytraders 5-20

Intraday traders 1-5

Faders 1-5

agree? thoughts? comments?

A scalper is both an intraday trader and a daytrader. Intraday trader and daytrader mean the same thing, actually, and both contain scalpers as a subset.

I make 50-500 trades/day, though sometimes more than 500!!! (manually!!!!!!!!!), so I'm definitely a scalper... though sometimes "human high frequency trader" might be a better definition :D.

I've been doing well above 50 lately, but there is no way I'd classify myself as a scalper. I understand the idea of the thread, but I don't think there is a direct correlation between strategy and number of trades per day.

From you p/l posts it looks like you're using sterling. how are your hot keys set up?

I don't scalp but I have a feeling if you scalp you probably have a lot better hot key setup than me.

Also, how often are you taking liquidity vs. providing? ECN/SEC fees must really add up with that kinda volume.

'Sooky' Fireplace got asked to show his charts and platform recently and ran out of the room and didn't post on ET for over a week.. he's a little sensitive about being caught out as a non trader so now he is trying hard to convince us :p

Tell you what, Mr BM, why don't you post a chart and we all can see what you know:D, and, you can post in the "F" word thread, so as not to ruin other peoples threads:p

I thought as much, and I see you need the calculator at hand to see how much you are losing:D

Keep watching the R2K, for that is what the real amateurs watch as they heard a few little boys talking about it:p

Nuf said, and it only took one post to reveal all:D

No more replies to you BoYo, only in the "F" word thread, for that is where you truly belong:p

I have a very insane layout. My fingers are long so I can reach keys many can't, but shift Q,W,E,R,T,Y are my cancels, shift A,S,D,F,G,H,J,K are my sells, shift+Z,X,C,V,B,N,M are my buys, CTRL+A,S,D,F,G,H,J,K are also sells, and CTRL+Z,X,C,V,B,N,M are also buys. Shift + ; and shift + ' are also buy/sell keys, as well as shift+[ and shift +].

I use numpad to change order quantity, and I use the arrow keys to change price around.

You can estimate my add/take ratio by looking at my gross:net. I'll give you a hint... I add a lot.
