TYC

Can anyone tell me what has changed over the last three days to warrant almost a 50% rise (from 15.25 to 22) in TYC share price?

probably the fact that IBD announced in their article pullout section on MF's (mutual funds) that this was the highest amount of shares to liquidate from their portfolios.

Other sources stated that Morgan and LEH were the largest traders behind the specialists on this stock.

They had a conference call and denied that they have any liquidity problems.

do you have NYSE+ as an ECN choice on your Level II's?

then we've heard that they shut it off at the post. you can't get executions through that pipe for nothing...

bids come and go, price rises 30 to 45 cents and you can't get executed, except through ARCA or slowly through ISLD, but even the NYSE route is horrid.

what's your experience with TYC in the recent days?

Limitdown

I traded TYC and have been using ISLD lately as the Island Book has been super thick in TYC. The volume is absolutely huge so not sure what is going on with the specialist. He probably is soo swamped with orders and not used to this type of volume.

And they couldn't say that before the huge tankage? Sounds like more class action suits to me.

rtharp and limitdown:

I traded TYC on four occasions (all shorts) on Friday 3rd, routing to the NYSE. I was half thinking of using ISLD, but there didn't seem to be much volume going through there.

When I missed out on a nice 50 cent move downwards in the last hour of trading, I realise that ISLD might have been the better choice.

Can you tell me if your trades were shorts, and if so, how long did it take for your ask to be hit on ISLD?

Thanks in advance.
