Lmao not bad.Let's ask Kim Jong...
Hmm, not so good.![]()
I hear you speaking out against violent riots when black left leaning folks are involved. I don't see you speaking out against violent riots when white right leaning folks are involved, but instead attempting to excuse it using whataboutism. That is the definition of hypocrisy and a double standard.
Oh, and perhaps the context of attacking the capitol while congress was tallying the electoral vote in a clearly stated attempt to overthrow the results of our country's election might be considered a little more serious to the future of the Republic than people who, also wrongly, were trying to occupy a federal building in Portland to bring attention to black folks getting killed by police. As I've pointed out in this thread before, being purposely obtuse and pedantic doesn't reflect well on the person engaging in it.
BTW, this is a thread about Twitter. You do realize you embedded a link to a CNN clip?
I like the end comment: “Donald Trump isn’t the cause of this great revolt, he is the result of it”. Which I took to mean that the American people are fed up with the business as usual career politicians that have been secretly fucking us for decades...cough cough “10% for the big guy” cough cough Uranium One, etc..
the media has highlighted every single little thing Trump has done and spun it in as negative a way possible while never giving him credit for a single positive thing he has done. Imagine if Obama had made peace with N. Korea or stood up to China over the trade deficit (instead of bomb brown kids in the Middle East)...the media would hail him as the hero of the nation.
The swamp was just too deep and Trump’s control over his own mouth was too shallow...
I have an Android phone. Every single news alert I got related to Trump was something negative. I never got any positive alert involving Trump that was positive. No alert about record low unemployment (before 2020), no alert about middle east peace deal, no alert that the Russian collusion investigation found nothing...just 100% negative. If the media treated the left the same way they treated the right, the election would have turned out much different. I don't blame the media though, I blame the average voter. China has to be laughing. I believe the 2020 elections would have been much different had their not been Covid. Who benefits from all this in the end? I suspect China.
Who benefits from all this in the end? I suspect China.
Twitter has been in a horrible position for the last 4 1/2 years. They've already pissed off millions of people by letting Trump use their platform to spread not only lies but some pretty reprehensible content in the form of personal attacks on guys who died for their country and their families, judges, disables folks, women... And it would have been the final straw for millions more if they didn't do something about the undeniable fact that the capitol was attacked and people were killed, including a police officer, by people who wouldn't have been there but for the false narrative Trump has been spewing about "massive election fraud" using their platform.
They may well lose money because they can't get those folks back. That may only mean that from a business decision perspective they should have enforced their TOS on Trump earlier, not that they shouldn't have enforced them now. As I alluded to earlier, you really need to define what the value per customer to Twitter is for one of the hard core Trump denialists? Do they really contribute much to Twitter's revenue? Are they big spenders at Twitter's online advertisers? Do Twitters advertisers want them as customers? Purely from a business point of view, now is probably the very best time to rip the bandaid off on this, take a small hit and some negative but at least given the circumstances defensible press, and move on to reclaim the market they've lost already by enabling Trump.

The issue is the blatant double-standard. How the does someone like Maxine Waters still have a twitter account after this:
How is that not inciting violence? Show me video of Trump saying something more inciting than that. There were literally 100 days of violent riots/protests in Portland. I never heard any mainstream media outrage over those events. They were sympathetic and referred to the protestors as "mostly peaceful" and never used words like "mob", "insurrectionists", or "violent" as they lit businesses and Federal buildings on fire, looted, violently beat and even killed people.
Well NK has conducted 3 more nuclear weapons tests, 30 more missle tests including and ICBM and the first submarine launched ballistic missles, killed an American college student named Otto Warmbier, and the last thing they had to say about us was "In order to eliminate the nuclear threats from the U.S., the DPRK government has made all possible efforts either through dialogue or in resort to the international law, but all ended in a vain effort. The only option left is to counter nuke with nuke." If that's your definition of "made peace with North Korea", then I'm deeply sorry to have to say it, but you sir are quite clearly completely detached from reality. How are NK relations today vs 2016?
And I said “stood up to China over the trade deficit”...tell me which president started the US-China trade wars?
Twitter is largely an echo chamber...
