TWS unstable since Thurs 6/19

syswizard, exactly what sys are you a wizard of?
Stop giving ridiculous advice.
Attacks and warnings, eh ?
Is that your modus operandi ?

Anyone else having problems? I know they issued a new version in the last couple days, but even when I go back to the previous one (Build 884) there are still issues ...

- TWS will not launch unless Java cache is cleared ... EVERY time
- TWS crashes frequently, most recently from simply checking version
- when it does re-launch, it does not pull up the most recently saved config.

Fixes tried, per tech support:

- removing Java and re-installing
- downloading Java webstart (made it MUCH worse ... TWS will not even launch completely before it crashes)

Ideas? ... similar stories?

Thanks.

same here. I have 16 instances of TWS build 884 running at the same time. About 1 out of 4 had problems logging or just crashed during the day. Today every single instance started fine.

IB's new platform www.futuretrade.com has been promised by the end of the second quarter. They are running out of days tough.

This is not correct. We are not making the platform available to IB customers as is.

Rather, we are making a lot of good functionality available in the FT platform part of IB-TWS. The next release 886, scheduled for beta this week or next, contains some FT functionality.

IBsoft, I was under the impression, from listening to IB conference calls, that futuretrade was being rewritten to use the IB datafeed. What are the current plans and release schedule for futuretrade?

The current Java version 1.6 has a known bug that will degrade performance of Java Webstart (i.e. browser version) of TWS.

The problems I was having with TWS were with the stand-alone version not browser version. Can you confirm if the latest stand-alone version of TWS is stable with the version of Java you are recommending?? My experience is that it is not stable at all with Java 1.6 (I have not tried it with Java 1.5).

TWS is stable with java 1.6 in standalone mode; if you are having problems please call customer service and have them create a ticket. Thanks.

Well, I have called and was told last week that there is some undetermined issue affecting performance and stability with 884 and to downgrade to 882.2 with Java 1.5_15 until it was determined what the cause was. I haven't tried 885 but 882.2 is working fine for now. Thanks.
