TWS Problems

I thought the problem may be with me, but while my desktop has Vista as the OS, my laptop runs on XP and it too experiences the same problem. I've called my ISP and they've confirmed that ports 4000 and 4001 is always opened so the issue is not from their end. I will try to disable the charting feature to see if that is the culprit.

For those of you who uses QuoteTracker for your charting, do you also use it to place your trades as well? If so, how does it compare to TWS in terms speed, execution and functionality? I've just downloaded the program so any comments is appreciated.

i use to trade one system where lot's of data is required..so i run 8 instances of TWS on old single core AMD athlon 64 with 2gb ram..runs just fine,along with my own applications.

to OP-tell me which version you need, i have all of them.
try to uninstall TWS completely,along with all components and directory. same for java. restart PC after each installation.
