TWS Freezing Up â
I wanted to bring this thread over here so people will know where to look for this type of thread.
In general, a lot of things can cause lock-ups with windows programs. Iâm going to provide a short list of stuff to look at to troubleshoot this; from there, you can let us know what you find.
Java Problems:
Multiple/corrupted installs of java. Look under Add/Remove programs in the control panel; make sure you have only 1 install of java, that the install says JRE and not SDK as well as a build of 1.3.1_02 or 1.4.0.
Video Cards:
Make sure you have the latest drivers (especially in XP, 2000 or NT).
If you have multiple monitors, make sure theyâre all set for the same color depth.
Network Cards:
Network card problems can cause lockups or internet connection loss. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your network card. Certain network cards can also cause the computer to lock up when used with Sunâs Java.
Other things may be at work, but start there.
