TWS' missing javaw.exe link

Another day. Another hiccup with IB's crazy, buggy TWS.

The latest Interactive Brokers offering triggers a "missing javaw.exe" link every time I try to launch it.

Anyone know of a solution?

EDIT:

Apparently, TWS doesn't look for javaw.exe in the SysWOW64 folder of 64-bit Windows 7, so you need to account for that yourself.

Why their programmers have overlooked this is another question ...

I got that too when I tried it on my new computer. It's nuts.

Are you saying this just cropped up today, Sunday 04/10?

I use the browser-based version ... would logging in using "Previous" allow one to avoid this problem?

My installation runs javaw.exe from System32, but I notice that javaw.exe exists in SysWOW64 as well. Is there some reason you're trying to run it from the latter. SysWOW64 contains 32-bit software. Some people think that's confusing, though I can't imagine why.

Here is a fix to the missing shortcut on w7. 64 bit ....
This will take care of the javaw.exe file and launch ib no problem

Ah, muat be exclusive to W7 ... 916.5 loads fine in XP.

SysWOW64 = System, Windows on Windows64
